About
Glowing is a cinematic-musical event in which a number of artists perform their personal stories on stage alongside live music and multiple projections of each Glowing film. The artists take a high risk by diving deep into their intense life struggles with the intention of re-perceiving themselves in a radical way. What unites the stories is the search for the obstacles we - as individuals and as a society - put in the way of physical and mental liberation. The artful fusion of text, music, cinematic images and performance produces a series of films that are captivating and entertaining, but at the same time confrontational. They are deeply reflexive, yet kinetic and dynamic.
The universal stories of artists Nick Flynn, Little Annie, No Anger, Vincent Dubuis, Robert O. Leaver and Evelyn Frantti confront perceptions and assumptions on topics such as heartbreak, disability, mental illness and drug addiction with the haunting live music of Jim Coleman, who is accompanied by Vincent Dubuis, Robert O. Leaver and Phil Puleo. Giving a voice to the unheard, taking a look at the unseen: this motivation runs through Beth B's films, art and installations - a work that aims to enable dialogue, build community and create a place for self-knowledge and acceptance.
